Ruby
Ruby is the most powerful of the red stones (which also
include Garnet, Red Jasper, and Carnelian). The colour red,
though sometimes associated with the first chakra, is the
natural partner of the second partner, which relates to
sexuality, blood circulation, and flow in general, and feeling.
This is definitely not a stone for anyone who tends to be
fiery in nature: the fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius,
or anyone who has a predominance of fire in their natal
chart. It is probably also not for the quick-tempered, for
people who are easily irritated or nervous.
Ruby needs to be used with care because, like Opal, it amplifies
all emotions. This can be very valuable if you feel that
you need to bring long-held anger to the surface. Meditate
with a Ruby in one hand and a Clear Quartz in the other
or place Ruby and clear quartz on the pelvic area, and consciously
allow the anger to arise. The clear quartz will accelerate
the process of releasing and dissolving the anger.
Many people have experienced ruby as a stone that helps
to relieve exhaustion and depression. Although it is not
recommended that ruby or any stone be used as a replacement
for medication, it can be very helpful in cases of mild
or temporary depression.
Ruby can also awaken passion -- not only sexual passion,
but passion for living, for experiencing, for creating.
It can stimulate motivating energy and the power of creative
visualization. It also helps people to be realistic and
honest about their goals and intentions.
If you are experiencing inertia, feel unimaginative, or
feel that your imagination is creating dreams which are
unrealisable, a ruby may help you to move forward in a positive
way.
